The film industry was introduced to helium balloon lighting in 1995. However, they were only used for exterior night shots and were extremely large. The problem for productions was using large lights to illuminate interior sets that would fill more space than they would have.
Pipe Lighting became the answer to what “all” productions were in need of. Pipe Lighting was first produced in 2018 by a Russian engineer who had years of experience with helium balloons. His expertise with led lighting and understanding what film productions needed inspired him to create lighting that could be utilized for interiors and exteriors on film sets. These lights were able to illuminate the set and not take up valuable real-estate.
Pipe Lighting became a celebrated name on movie sets in Russia. As the popularity spread, Pipe Lighting began to support more productions across Russia and Europe. The company now has a production facility in the United States that supports multi-million dollar productions as well as independent.
